Giving 5 Makes a Difference Throughout June 2009, Macquarie Southern Cross Media Radio and Television stations across Australia will again be conducting the annual GIVE ME FIVE FOR KIDS appeal.
GIVE ME FIVE FOR KIDS is a community based appeal that raises money for Children’s Wards and Children’s services at local hospitals. The key to the appeal’s success is that money raised locally is spent locally. Everyone in the community that has a need to use the Children’s Ward at their hospital benefits.
GIVE ME FIVE FOR KIDS started as a simple 5 cent coin collection at one radio station in the late 90’s – and has now grown to involve 32 radio markets and 34 Television markets across regional Australia.
This multi-faceted fund raiser incorporates a wide variety of events and activities and of course, the all important Collection Tin drive.
Last year nationally, over $1,000,000 was raised and despite the current testing times in the economy, hopes are high for another big year for the appeal.
Macquarie Southern Cross Media CEO, Rhys Holleran, said “This is a great appeal and seeks to help the local communities we serve in our broadcast areas. The real heroes are the many local people and businesses that give generously. We are pleased we are able to once again be part of that”.
GIVE ME FIVE FOR KIDS has made, and is continuing to make, a real difference to the lives of the Children of regional Australia and their families.
This year , GIVE ME 5 FOR KIDS is giving you the chance to Fly like a rockstar with V AUSTRALIA And meet KEITH URBAN in LA. Terms & Conditions SUSAN WILLIAMS OF NSW won the KEITH URBAN SMS Comp!!!
